New databases available through the AF Portal and Military One Source
DOD MWR Libraries are funding a joint purchase of recreational and educational online resources and new technologies to support deployed and active duty troops, guard and reserve members, and their families.
These items are now available on the AF Portal and the Military One Source Website:

Access from the AF Portal: www.my.af.mil
There are links to many research programs on the AF Portal (for those who have an account) with no login or password required. To access these programs on the portal, click on the “Library” tab. Programs are listed on the Library page under Educational Services.
Access from Military One Source: www.militaryonesource.com
There is a link available on the main page, Education tab, or Recreation tab. Choose Online Library Resources and then Library Home. You must first register for an account to use this website.

Newsbank--Databases include Armed Services and Government News (with access to The Air Force Times), America's Newspapers - Hometown News, and Military Periodicals (1998-Current).
Facts on File History Database Center and Ferguson's Career Guidance Center--Access to the following History databases: American History Online, American Women's History Online, African-American History Online, American Indian History Online, Modern World History Online, Ancient and Medieval History Online. Search for biographies, subjects, primary source documents, maps and charts, images, and timelines. Ferguson's Career Guidance Center provides detailed profiles of more than 3,300 jobs and 94 industries, invaluable advice on career skills, more than 48,000 resource entries, and much more! NetLibrary--NetLibrary eBooks contains 7,191 digital full-text versions of books such as reference works, scholarly monographs, literature and fiction, and 3,400 publicly-accessible titles. To use this program you will first need to sign up for a free account in the library and then you can access from anywhere.
abcteach--abcteach is designing tools to help teachers create the documents they need for their classrooms when they can't find exactly what they are looking for elsewhere. FirstSearch--WorldCat database contains records of library materials in libraries worldwide. FirstSearch also provides electronic access to dozens of databases and more than 10 million full-text and full-image articles. A broad range of databases and full text collections are available.
Patron Books In Print--If you can't find what you are looking for in our catalog, check here to see what you need and then request the book through Interlibrary Loan.
FictionConnection--Look up fiction books by topic, genre, setting, character, location, or timeframe. Find books by authors similiar to what you already read. Many possibilities and options available to help you find just the fiction book you are looking for! (Use the same login and password as Patron Books In Print to access this database!)
