Databases available through the AF Portal and Military One Source
DOD MWR Libraries are funding a joint purchase of recreational and educational online resources and new technologies to support deployed and active duty troops, guard and reserve members, and their families.
These items are now available on the AF Portal and the Military One Source Website:

Access from the AF Portal: www.my.af.mil
There are links to many research programs on the AF Portal (for those who have an account) with no login or password required. To access these programs on the portal, click on the “Library” tab. Programs are listed on the Library page under Educational Services.
Access from Military One Source: www.militaryonesource.com
There is a link available on the main page, Education tab, or Recreation tab. Choose Online Library Resources and then Library Home. You must first register for an account to use this website.

Web based Research Programs--Here are the links to the research programs that the library currently subscribes to. Please ask for login and password information by calling x5119 or stopping by the circulation desk. Many of these programs are also available through the Air Force Portal.

SIRS Knowledge Source--Social Issues Resource Series Search Portal includes SIRS Researcher, SIRS Government Reporter, SIRS Renaissance, SIRS WebSelect, Interactive Citizenship, SIRS Discoverer, and SIRS Decades

CultureGrams--Databases include World Edition, Kids Edition, States Edition, Provinces Edition. Contains concise, reliable, and up-to-date reports on more than 200 countries, each U.S. state, and all 13 Canadian provinces and territories.
Gale Databases--Databases include Gale Virtual Reference Library, Student Resource Center-Gold, and Opposing Viewpoints Resource Center, (these databases are cross-searchable). Also available are Kids Infobits, Health and Wellness Resource Center, AP Interactives, and Science Resource Center

Facts on File History Database Center and Ferguson's Career Guidance Center--Access to the following History databases: American History Online, American Women's History Online, African-American History Online, American Indian History Online, Modern World History Online, Ancient and Medieval History Online. Search for biographies, subjects, primary source documents, maps and charts, images, and timelines. Ferguson's Career Guidance Center provides detailed profiles of more than 3,300 jobs and 94 industries, invaluable advice on career skills, more than 48,000 resource entries, and much more! NetLibrary--NetLibrary eBooks contains 7,191 digital full-text versions of books such as reference works, scholarly monographs, literature and fiction, and 3,400 publicly-accessible titles. To use this program you will first need to sign up for a free account in the library and then you can access from anywhere.
